More than 8,000 runners have registered to participate in the 5km Road Race on Sunday, November 10th, while another 8,000 are anticipated to run the 10km Road Race. Both races are held in parallel with the 31st Athens Classic Marathon Race.

This year, significant changes will be implemented in these two races. More specifically:
The 5km Road Race has a new starting point, a new course and a new Kickoff time. The start of the race will be given at 8:00 from Amalias Avenue, in front and to the right side of the Zappeion Megaro at the level of Bodossakis Foundation Builing (Eurobank) and following the Syntagma direction. To ensure the safety of the runners, a “wave start” system, as in the Marathon Race, will be implemented.

The new course of the 5km Road Race is the following: Amalias Avenue, Panepistimiou Avenue, Riga Ferraiou Str., right on Akadimias Avenue, left onVas. Sofias Avenue, u-turn on Vas. Sofias Avenue - NIMITS Hospital Junction, Vas. Sofias Avenue (in front of the Hilton Hotel), Hrodou Attikou Str., access the Panathinaikon Stadium courtyard and enter the Panathinaikon Stadium. Yet, the finish line inside the Stadium will be on the left side.

The 10km Road Race will start at 09:05, following the “wave start” system with the starting line to be found on Amalias Avenue as well. The course of the 10km Road Race is the following: Amalias Avenue, Panepistimiou Avenue, Char. Trikoupi Str., Akadimias Avenue, left of Vas. Sofias Avenue, Pheidippidou Str., left on Mesogeion Avenue up to the Police Academy, u-turn (at the Police Academy lights), Mesogeion Avenue, Michalakopoulou Avenue, Pheidippidou Str., left on Mesogeion Avenue, Vas. Sofias Avenue (in front of Hilton Hotel), Hrodou Attikou Str., access the Panathinaikon Stadium courtyard, and enter the Panathinaikon Stadium; the finish line, as in the 5km Road Race, will be inside the stadium on the left side.
