It is with high spirit and intense efforts that SEGAS, the Hellenic Athletics Federation, has entered the preparation phase of the 2011 Athens Classic Marathon, which will be held on Sunday November 13, 2011.

On the occasion of the European Year of Volunteering 2011, SEGAS has decided to use the largest and most popular annual event of our country as an opportunity for the marathon movement and individual runners to appreciate the importance of social solidarity and express their support towards those who care and provide social work.

The Registration Period of the 2011 Athens Classic Marathon will open on March 08, 2011. All runners are invited to register for their desired road race of the event, through our website, www.athensclassicmarathon.gr, starting from that date.

The Athens Classic Marathon Organizing Committee has decided to maintain the same registration fees and participation limits in all road races, as in the year 2010.
Marathon Race (including Power Walking): 12,500 runners
10km Road Race: 4,500 runners
5km Road Race: 3,500 runners

A significant number of these entries – mainly for the Marathon Race – have already been reserved by travel agencies and organized group of runners from Greece and abroad. The number of entries available to the public will be announced on March 08, 2011 along with the opening of the registration period. Entries will be offered on a priority basis, and on that ground, all runners that are interested in participating in this year’s event, are kindly advised to submit their registration the soonest possible, in order to secure their participation in this year’s Athens Classic Marathon event, which has already attracted the world interest.
